Silver Variegated Iris

Description

A great perennial for adding months of interest to the garden. Its lavender flowers appear in mid to late spring and smell like grape soda! Its swordlike, striped, green and white foliage adds months of vertical interest to the landscape. Plant as a specimen plant—or for a striking look, plant en masse. Grows 32-34 in. tall. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Zones 4-9.

Depth:Dig a hole large enough to spread the roots without bending them. Set the rhizome so the bottom half is below ground level. Firm soil well and water thoroughly.

Foliage: Long, broad, sword-like leaves 1 – 1 1/2 inches wide. Silvery-grey green with striking white stripes along each blade.
