White blossoms centered with a violet-blue eye are flirty, fun, and eye-catching–and the bright green mat of needled foliage is handsome in its own right. It even tolerates poor, sandy ground and survives cold winters, returning to grow exuberantly. Once established, it often reblooms in fall. Ideal on slopes or other broad, sunny areas, but pretty enough to tuck into a rock garden or mixed flowerbed.

Thrives in full sun. Reaches only 6 inches high, individual plants spreading 12 to 18 inches. Zones 3-10.
